Laurent Fischer lag de laatste tijd onder vuur, een uitspraak van Nintendo Europe’s senior marketing director riep de woede van David Jaffe op zijn hals.
Fischer gaf enige tijd geleden aan dat alleen “geeks and otaku” om de Wii tekorten gaven. David Jaffe reageerde hierop woedend en zegt dat het juist deze groep is die ervoor zorgt dat er geld in het laadje komt bij Nintendo.
Nu de situatie iets afgekoeld is ziet Fischer in dat de uitspraken niet gepast waren:

“I have huge respect for those who, like me, share a common passion for Nintendo and want to make it clear that I would never use and I didn’t use this terminology in such a context or way to cause offence.
I regret that this misunderstanding has created such offence and disappointment within the community.”
