Een klein percentage Xbox 360 consoles wordt teruggestuurd naar Microsoft omdat deze vastlopen of oververhittingsproblemen hebben/hadden.
Eergisteren berichtten wij dat een Duitse technicus een Xbox 360 had opengeschroefd en op onder de koelers van het systeem een folie had gevonden, dat er volgens hem niet zou horen. Deze folie zou de geleidende eigenschappen van de koelpasta hinderen en zo de oververhitting veroorzaken.
Microsoft heeft gereageerd op de bevindingen van onze oosterbuur en meldde het volgende:

There is no systemic issue with Xbox 360. Any customer inquires are being handled on a case-by-case basis. The return rate is below the CE industry average of 3-5%. Of the total number of Xbox 360 systems already in the field, the calls we've received represent a very small fraction. Even so, we're doing everything we can to take care of these customers quickly so they can get back to enjoying their new consoles.
Het komt er dus op neer dat de folie wel degelijk in de Xbox 360 hoort en niet de oververhitting zou moeten veroorzaken. Heb je nog steeds problemen met de Xbox 360, de Microsoft klantenservice is er om je te woord te staan.
