Vandaag is de PS3 launchdag in Europa. Veel Europese gamers hadden de console echter al een stuk eerder verwacht, aangezien de andere continenten al in november met de PS3 aan de slag konden. Is Europa dan niet zo belangrijk voor Sony? Phil Harrison, baas van Sony, doet enkele uitspraken die op het tegendeel lijken.
Phil Harrison benadrukte met zijn uitspraken gisteravond tijdens de officiële UK launch hoe belangrijk de Europese markt is voor Sony.
"This is the third continent out of three, but it is the most important," "It's got most countries, it's the most people, it's the most cultures..."
"The fact that we've got the launch here with more consoles shipped on day one that we've ever had in our history is a compliment to the importance of the European market."
De Engelse launch vond plaats in de Virgin Megastore in de Oxford Street, net zoals de eerdere Playstation launches.
"I've seen PlayStation 1 and PlayStation 2 launched on Oxford Street but this is the most meaningful for me personally, because I think it's so important not just for our industry but for UK consumers - the fact that they're going to get the best machine with the best software support, the most Network service and the firmware update,"
Harrison vindt het erg spijtig dat de Europeanen zo lang hebben moeten wachtten, maar denkt wel dat het wachten beloond zal worden:
"They had to wait, and I feel really bad about that. But I'm hoping we can make it up to them with the quality of software that we've got coming out."
Phil was gelukkig zoveel mensen te zien bij de launch:
"The fact that people are prepared to invest their time, their money and their passion in queueing up to be part of a launch is great - and it kind of makes all the hard work worthwhile,"
"It's not just for people in the UK, it's for the guys in Japan who make the hardware, it's for the people who make the software, and the thousands of people who are part of the PlayStation story."
"PlayStation 3 has got a tremendous future ahead of it - this is just the start as far as the UK is concerned. We're in a ten year cycle, and we're four minutes into a ten year cycle, so ask me in however minutes that is from now..."

Joni idd.. eindelijk ff pauze genomen van non-stop spelen. Ben zeer tevreden over de PS3, van Formula One, Motorstorm en Resistance valt het laatste alleen een klein beetje tegen maar dat verwachtte ik al.
@ Tyger1 : Tsjah het ligt eraan wat je bij een console voorstelt.. alle extra's is voor mij mooi meegenomen. Najah ik heb hem niet alleen voor gaming gekocht dat wel. Maar als game console staat ie flink sterk hoor. Vooral Motorstorm liet gezicht een glimlach toveren. Alleen Gears lukte dat voor de X360.

het enige wat ik kan zeggen is dat ik blij ben dat ik gewacht heb op de ps3 en geen xbox of wii gekocht heb, maar smaken verschillen :9

heeft iemand btw virtua tennis?
en welke gek heeft er 6 launch games gekocht en 5 films hoeveel geld kan je hebben djeeeezz 
ik nog een weekje kan ni meer wachten

Tyger1...vreemde vent (jeweetwelwaarom) 
de Ps3PC mwoeha ha ha, en de ontwikkelaars maar denken dat de Xbox meer PC is qua programmeren.
Blijkt dat onze kenner ten top weet te vertellen dat het de PS3 is!...je lult wel goed met de wind mee.
Waar was je trouwens de laatste tijd, tegenwind?...
ha ha geintje hoor tyger!

@ Weazel , ik ben bezig met schrijf lessen te volgen.om op het hoge niveau mee te kunnen!!!
en geen tegenwind ik blijf bij 360.maar je moet de waarhied durven typen.
I HAVE ONE DREAM,x360 IS THE BEST.en ik geloof hem (tyger is back) :) :) :) .sorry vergeten me in te loggen . tyger1
