Nadat Final Fantasy VII: The First Solider in november 2021 werd uitgebracht voor iOS en Android maakt Square Enix nu bekend dat de free-to-play battle royale game binnenkort niet langer gespeeld kan worden.
Op 11 januari 2023 zullen de servers van de game gesloten worden. Vanaf vandaag is het al niet langer mogelijk om Shinra Credits aan te schaffen via de in-game shops, eerder aangeschafte credits kunnen nog wel worden uitgegeven. Ondersteuning voor niet-Engelse talen zal op 31 oktober komen te vervallen.
