De Wii U is voorlopig geen groot succes, maar desondanks kan Nintendo nog steeds op veel rekenen, onder andere Ubisoft en Sony Computer Entertainment geloven dat de Wii U een succes kan worden.
Electronic Arts daarentegen gelooft al lang niet meer in de console. Een anonieme EA werknemer vertelde tegen CVG dat Electronic Arts al snel het geloof in de Wii U opgaf. Na de launch en de teleurstellende prestaties van hun launchgames besloot EA al snel dat de console voor kinderen was, en dat zij geen games maken voor die groep.
Nintendo was dead to us very quickly. It became a kids IP platform and we don’t really make games for kids. That was pretty true across the other labels too. Even the Mass Effect title on Wii U, which was a solid effort, could never do big business, and EA like Activision is only focused on games that can be big franchises.
