Eind 2012 lanceerde Nintendo hun Wii U met een resem aan exclusieve en multiplatform-titels. Verkopen deze titels echter ook goed? In het Verenigd Koninkrijk blijkt alvast niet.
Eerder bleek al dat de software niet goed verkocht in het land, en nu klagen retailers ook over de verkopen van de hardware. Verschillende Britse retailers vragen Nintendo nu om een prijsverlaging van de Wii U, betere marketing en een killer app waarvoor de Wii U de aankoop waard is.
“Wii U has not caught the public’s imagination yet. We need a killer app to drive sales, and a big marketing push to clearly communicate what Wii U is all about – it will probably be better to focus on the premium edition to do this.” – Tesco games buying manager Jonathan Hayes
