De NDS is nu drie maanden uit binnen ons continent en is binnen die tijd één miljoen keer over de toonbank gegaan. Dit werd vandaag door Nintendo bekend gemaakt.
Sinds 11 maart 2005 heeft de Nintendo DS al vele records gebroken. Binnen drie weken waren er al 500.000 handhelds verkocht en nu, 3 maanden na de launch, is dit getal opgelopen tot één miljoen.
Jim Merrick, directing Marketing of Nintendo Europe vertelde:

"The European launching of Nintendo DS is an immense success, with sales exploding the preceding records as of the first weekend and which did not weaken since. This product reflects the engagement of Nintendo in favour of the innovation and progress by proposing a way of playing radically new and very fascinating. While adopting the console Nintendo DS masses some, the European consumers voted by plebiscite the ludic and innovative spirit of Nintendo."
Met aankomende titels als Nintendogs, Mario Kart DS en Advance Wars: Dual Strike denkt Nintendo zeker dat de DS ook in de toekomst erg succesvol zal zijn en dat de verkopen nog verder door zullen lopen.
