De developer Midway heeft vandaag aangekondigd dat ze stoppen met het maken van games die op de GameCube zullen uitkomen. Dit is erg schokkend nieuws voor Nintendo.
Huidige projecten zoals Midway's Arcade Treasures zullen waarschijnlijk niet afgemaakt worden voor de GameCube.
Nintendo is natuurlijk woedend hierover. Hieronder een quote van Nintendo over deze aankondiging:

It appears that Midway has made a business decision to stop making titles for the Nintendo GameCube, and while losing a licensee company such as Midway would be a major loss, it appears that they are re-evaluating their business needs. I can tell you that we appreciate the 20 or so titles that Midway did release on the Nintendo GameCube, and some of their future projects look interesting, they have the final decision in this corporate stance. Finally, there are still hundreds of new titles in development for the Nintendo GameCube, so you can look forward to a great library of titles for our system in 2004 and beyond!
