Muziek is een belangrijk onderdeel in de beleving van een game, minstens net zo belangrijk als een goede gameplay of verhaal in deze game. Gelukkig lijken alle elementen in Bioshock in orde te zijn.
2K Games heeft onthul dat Garry Schyman de muziek voor het spel heeft verzorgt, hij deed dit door elementen als traditionele tonen en romantische stijlen samen te brengen door het historische Captitol Studios in Hollywood. Naast dit orkestwerk mogen we ook solo's van violen, de cello en de piano in het spel verwachten:

Eerder was Schyman al verantwoordelijk voor de muziek in films als Revenge of the Nerds III en IV, Lost in Africa, de TV-serie The A-Team en games als Destroy All Humans! 1 en 2 en Full Spectrum Warrior: Tn Hammers.
