Ze hebben een statement naar buiten gebracht met bovenstaande info, je denkt toch niet dat het betrouwbaar is dat een deel van Microsoft dat erna weer ontkent

Eigenlijk hoop ik dat deze game 360-exclusive blijft. Ik vind het altijd jammer dat de exclusives Xbox & 360 niet echt exclusief zijn, omdat ze ook op de pc uitkomen. Ja, ik weet het, de exclusiviteit geldt alleen voor de consoles. Maar toch voelt het niet zo goed.

MS wil natuurlijk dat mensen een 360 kopen voor Gears of War en niet wachten op de een PC versie.


Overigens vind ik het vrij zelfzuchtig als gamers dingen exclusief willen houden, de game wordt er voor jezelf niet beter of slechter op, alleen zullen minder mensen kunnen genieten van een goede game.

De laatste dagen waren er opeens grote geruchten dat Gears of War, momenteel dé topper op de Xbox 360, mogelijk naar de PC zou komen. Vandaag wordt dit gerucht ontkent door GameScoreBlog, een website die gerund wordt door medewerkers van Microsoft's global marketing team.

De geruchten ontstonden nadat er een nieuw hoesje van Gears of War te zien was met hierop een 'games for Windows logo'. Dit heeft echter niets te betekenen, zo zeggen ze. Het is geen aankondiging, lek, of ook maar iets wat er op lijkt.

NO, this is not a confirmation, leak, tease, or sly viral attempt to announce, confirm, or admit that Gears of War will be published for Windows.

Ze leggen uit hoe dit heeft kunnen gebeuren: deze plaatjes werden gemaakt door middel van een 'Games for Windows' template in combinatie met een aantal covers van Microsoft Game Studios spellen. Hier zat per ongeluk ook Gears of War tussen. Het was een concept plaatje gemaakt door een concept ontwerper en heeft dus helemaal niets te betekeken. Op dit moment zijn er geen plannen om Gears of War naar een ander platform over te zetten.

Here's what happened: These images were created using draft templates for the Games for Windows box art and a variety of Microsoft Game Studios cover images. Gears of War was accidentally included by the artist as one of the MGS titles used as examples to show what our retail setup would look like. This DOES NOT indicate a confirmation that Gears of Wars will be a Games for Windows title -- it was a concept image created by a concept artist, nothing more. In fact, if you look closely you’ll also see that Age of Empires III and Rise of Legends are also branded Games for Windows, and this is not actually the case (Age of Empires III: The Warchiefs is a Games for Windows branded game, but not the original Age III).

We created this image around the E3 timeframe when we were first preparing to announce and show our Games for Windows retail efforts. Shortly after the insanity that is E3, we noticed the box art, and the image was supposed to be removed from circulation. When we provided the package of art assets to PC Gamer for their cover story, we zipped up a directory of our already-public E3 assets as well as more current images (many of which PC Gamer did not use). Unfortunately, we didn't realize that this image was in that directory, and it just happens to be the one that PC Gamer figured prominently in their story. Our bad.

We're incredibly excited about the success of Gears of War on Xbox 360, but we have nothing further to announce about Gears of War, or any other platforms it might come to, at this time.

tog wel betrouwbaar?

Dit was te verwachten, tuurlijk ontkennen ze het. Als ze nu gaan zeggen dat hij ook op de PC komt, dan wachten mensen wel voor de PC-versie waardoor de Xbox 360 verkoop achteruit gaat. De vraag is, wil je wel zo veel geld neerleggen voor Gears of War en alle andere next-gen spellen? Ik zelf zou het niet alleen doen voor Gears of War en dat soort spellen want de PC upgraden doe je voor PC exclusives, zoals RTS enzo.

Zo was er ook een keer een plaatje van de Xbox website met een aankondiging voor een demo voor Gears of War.
Betekende toen ook niets, foutjes worden gemaakt, en dit zou er ook gewoon een kunnen zijn.

Dat denk ik dus ook, maar verwacht het wel.. over 2 jaartjes. Kunnen meer mensen van deze topper genieten

@ Jesse: weet je wat het is?! Als alle consoles dezelfde games krijgen, dan heb je geen reden meer om een bepaalde console te halen. Games maken de console en daarom zijn exclusives gewoon belangrijk.
