Tropico 5 verscheen reeds op de PC, Xbox 360 en PlayStation 4, maar een Xbox One versie bleef achter. Uitgever Kalypso Media kondigt deze versie nu alsnog aan.
De aankondiging komt middels onderstaande tekst naar buiten:

De extra content bestaat uit de Bayo del Ofato, Big Cheese, Mad World, Generalissimo en Joint Venture add-ons, the Waterborne uitbreiding en vijf nieuwe, exclusieve Xbox One sandbox maps. Tevens is de interface geoptimaliseerd voor controllers.
