De game Minecraft is onlosmakelijk verbonden met Markus “Notch” Persson, een project dat hem aan het hart gaat en veel tijd heeft gekost. Door alle ontwikkelingen besluit Notch nu een stapje terug te doen.
In zijn blog schrijft hij dat hij niet langer als lead developer aan het project verbonden zal zijn. Reden is dat hij rust wil nemen en aan nieuwe projecten wil werken, ondanks dat hij wel zal blijven helpen bij Minecraft wanneer dit nodig is.
