Eerder deze week werden de genomineerden voor de E3 2017 Game Critics Awards bekend gemaakt. De strijd om beste van de show ging tussen Assassin's Creed: Origins, Super Mario Odyssey, Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle, Middle-earth: Shadow of War en Wolfenstein II: The New Colussus en inmiddels is de winnaar bekend.
Het is Super Mario Odyssey die zich de beste van de afgelopen E3 mag noemen. Deze eer komt voort uit een jury van verschillende gaming media overal ter wereld die games moeten beoordelen die speelbaar waren. Presentaties en hands-off demo's konden dus geen kans maken, waardoor titels als Anthem, Spider-Man en God of War niet genoemd zijn.
