Hoewel de PlayStation 4 nog moet verschijnen, gaan er al de nodige geruchten ten ronde over een bundel die zowel de PlayStation 4 als de PlayStation Vita bevat. Sony heeft eerder al aangegeven dat het nog niet van plan is om nu al een dergelijke bundel te fabriceren, lijkt de bundel geen toekomstfantasie te zijn.
In een ondervraging van PlayStation UK-baas Fergal Gara door OPM liet Gara zich enkele veelbelovende teksten ontlokken. Zo geeft Gara aan dat Sony positief verrast is door reactie die de remote-play demonstraties op Gamescom teweeg heeft gebracht. Het zou zelfs mogelijk zijn dat de PS4 met Vita bundel nog tijdens de launch van de PS4 in de winkels komt te liggen als Sony zich een dezer dagen zou bedenken.

I think that clearly demonstrating what the two machines do when they come together was a big step and I think Gamescom was a key moment for that. Seeing the consumer reaction and actually an upsurge in Vita sales immediately following that demo was very encouraging to see. We could probably change our mind in the morning and still have it ready for launch to be honest so it’s not a big decision. It’s not a hard thing to do.
