Door de overname van Activision-Blizzard door Microsoft zijn ze ook eigenaar geworden van de Call of Duty franchise. In gesprek met Official Xbox Podcast laat Phil Spencer weten wat dit voor gevolgen heeft in de toekomst.
Host Malik Prince vroeg Spencer of Xbox exclusieve content zou ontvangen in de toekomstige uitgaven. Hoewel Spencer erkent dat ieder platform op technisch vlak anders is en verschillende mogelijkheden bevat willen ze zoveel mogelijk gelijkheid nastreven.

In het verleden werden de Xbox versies nog weleens buitengesloten als het ging om bijvoorbeeld skins of beta's. In de toekomst wil hij niemand voortrekken of achter stellen.
