Toen Microsoft bekend maakte Activision Blizzard over te nemen voor een miljardenbedrag was het de vraag wat dit voor consequenties had voor PlayStation. Zou Call of Duty over enkele jaren nog wel speelbaar zijn op dit platform?
Eerder al gaf Microsoft aan de huidige afspraken te respecteren, toch zou dit nog altijd kunnen betekenen dat de games van Activision Blizzard over enige tijd de PlayStation over zouden slaan. Gelukkig blijkt dit niet het geval te zijn, zo laat Microsoft president Bradford Lee Smith in een blogpost weten.
Te lezen is dat Microsoft geen exclusiviteit nastreeft. Niet alleen gedurende de huidig geldende termijn van de samenwerking maar ook erna zullen de games van Activision Blizzard gewoon op de PlayStation worden uitgebracht. Ze stoppen hier niet, ze kijken ook hoe ze de platformen van Nintendo kunnen ondersteunen.
