Het gerucht dat Criterion Games met een reboot van Need for Speed: Underground komt werd al snel ontkracht, vandaag laat de ontwikkelaar zelfs weten helemaal niet met een racer bezig te zijn.
Creative Director Alex Ward vertelt ons via Twitter dat zich niet bezig zijn met een nieuwe Burnout, Need for Speed of Road Roash titel, in plaats daarvan komen ze met iets 'compleet nieuws'.

Aangezien Criterion in 2006 met de shooter Black kwam ging al snel het gerucht dat het om een sequel op deze game ging, maar ook dit ontkracht Ward.
