Microsoft heeft zeventig originele Xbox en Xbox 360 games toegevoegd aan hun Xbox One en Xbox Series backward compatiblity catalogus. Onder de namen vinden we games als Max Payne, de F.E.A.R. franchise, Skate 2 en Star Was: Jedi Knight II.
De games zijn te spelen als je deze in bezit hebt, ongeacht of dit op disc is of digitaal. Iedere game bevat diverse verbeteren op visueel vlak en een betere resolutie, oplopend tot vier keer de resolutie op de Xbox Series X en Xbox One X, drie keer op de Xbox Series S en twee keer op de Xbox One S en Xbox One. Elf van de games hebben ook nog eens een frame rate boost gekregen, waaronder F.E.A.R., F.E.A.R. 3, Binary Domain en NIER.
Bestaande backward compatible games ontvangen eveneens een frame rate boost, waaronder de Gears of War serie, Fallout 3, Fallout: New Vegas, The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, Dragon Age: Origins, Dead Space 2, Dead Space 3, Alan Wake en Sonic Generations.
Met de zeven games, waarvan hieronder een lijst, is er een einde gekomen aan het backward compatiblity programma. Volgens hoofd Peggy Lo heeft dit alles te maken met wat er legaal en technisch mogelijk is.
