Afgelopen februari werd bekend dat ontwikkelaar CD Projekt RED aan een stand-alone versie werkt van Gwent, het kaartspel dat we leerden kennen in The Witcher 3. De game richt zich vooral op de singleplayer, een ervaring die helaas niet is weggelegd voor gamers met een console.
Tegenover IGN heeft de ontwikkelaar aangegeven dat Project Golden Nekker, zoals de game momenteel heet, later dit jaar naar de PC, iOS en Android zal komen. Helaas laten ze het hier ook bij, er volgt namelijk geen release op de consoles. Dit in tegenstelling tot het eerder uitgebrachte Gwent en de spin-off The Witcher Tales: Thronebreaker.
