Bluepoint Games staat onder gamers bekend als de studio die bijzonder goed overweg kan met het overzetten van games. Denk aan Gravity Rush Remastered, Titanfall voor de Xbox 360 of de Shadow of the Colossus remaster. Vandaag bereikt ons echter minder leuk nieuws.
De mede-oprichter van Bluepoint, Andy O' Neill is namelijk overleden op 47 jarige leeftijd.
Voordat O'Neill Bluepoint mede oprichtte had hij zijn sporen in de industrie al ruimschoots verdiend: Zo was hij de hoofdprogrammeur van het legendarische Metroid Prime. Bij Bluepoint was hij verantwoordelijk voor de God of War remaster, en werkte hij ook mee aan titels als ICO, Metal Gear Solid, Flower, Uncharted, Shadow of the Colossus en meer.

For the past 20 years, Andy called Austin his home. Always embraced the local lifestyle. Live music was a big part of him whether attending music festivals or playing his bass guitar for friends at home or around town. He loved the outdoors riding his mountain bike on the nature trails. He was always up for a great martini and enjoyed being with friends and making new ones.
Andy’s contributions to the gaming industry will never be forgotten. We are saddened by his passing, but grateful he will forever be a part of our lives.”
