Elke week verschijnt Famitsu in Japan. Het magazine deelt wekelijks scores uit aan de nieuwste spellen. Elk spel krijgt vier scores op 10 om een goed beeld van het spel te schetsen.
Een spel krijgt dus maximaal 40 punten wat zelden gebeurt. In het verleden haalden The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, Soul Calibur, Vagrant Story, The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker, Nintendogs, Final Fantasy XII, Super Smash Bros. Brawl en Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots deze befaamde score. Nu mag ook de Sound Novel 428 aan het lijstje worden toegevoegd waardoor de Wii de eerste console ooit wordt met twee games die 40 halen. Ook Saints Row 2 en Fallout 3 scoorden goed deze maand, maar zij haalden respectievelijk 35 en 38.
