Nu Peter Molyneux los is van Microsoft staat het hem vrij om zich te mengen in discussies, hetgeen hij dan ook doet door terug te blikken op de E3
De voormalig Creative Director van Microsoft game Studios geeft aan geschokt te zijn door de gebrekkige ondersteuning van zijn oude werkgever in PC gaming. Het is niet de enige kritiek, zo tracht het Xbox team tevens obsessief om Sony na te doen met hun PlayStation 3.
Gesproken over de nieuwe generatie spelcomputers hoopt hij dat deze een ware innovatie teweeg zullen brengen, is dit niet het geval dan zullen gamers zich gaan richten op andere formats. Het is juist PC gaming waar de innovatie al veelvuldig in naar voren komt, juist om deze reden snapt hij niet waarom Microsoft zo weinig geeft om hun Windows platform.

De problemen liggen volgens Molyneux echter niet alleen bij Microsoft, alle console makers zullen nieuwe uitdagingen tegen komen bij hun aankomende generatie spelcomputers.

Molyneux verliet Microsoft onlangs om indie studio 22 Cans op te richten, destijds gaf hij aan de werksituatie 'creatief verstikkend' te vinden.
