Momenteel produceert Keiji Inafune samen met zijn ontwikkelstudio Comcept het spel Mighty No. 9, een spirituele opvolger voor Mega Man. De game verschijnt onder andere op de PC, de PlayStation 3, de PlayStation 4, de PlayStation Vita, de Xbox 360, de Xbox One, de Nintendo 3DS, en de Nintendo Wii U; waarbij de game de Unreal Engine gebruikt.
Het duurt nog even eer de game beschikbaar is, maar de Trophies zijn nu wel duidelijk. De game bevat er 31, waarbij ook een Platinum. Het verdienen ervan zal echter niet gemakkelijk worden.
