Eerder deze week leerden we EA Access kennen, een Xbox One abonnementsmodel waarbij je voor minimaal vijf dollar per maand toegang krijgt tot de games van Electronic Arts. Opvallend genoeg komt de service niet naar de PlayStation 4.
Sony reageert nu zelf op de situatie en geeft aan dat EA Access niet de waarde bevat die PlayStation consumenten verwachten:

“We evaluated the EA Access subscription offering and decided that it does not bring the kind of value PlayStation customers have come to expect. PlayStation Plus memberships are up more than 200% since the launch of PlayStation 4, which shows that gamers are looking for memberships that offer a multitude of services, across various devices, for one low price. We don’t think asking our fans to pay an additional $5 a month for this EA-specific program represents good value to the PlayStation gamer.”
In ander EA Access nieuws leren we dat Xbox Live Gold niet benodigd is om gebruik te maken van de service, wil je echter een game online gaan spelen dan is Xbox Live Gold alsnog benodigd.
